Joseph P. Yamin Esq.

Joseph P. Yamin, Esq., born in Willimantic and raised in Waterbury, Joe is married to his wife, Jennifer for over 20 years and they have three children; one daughter, 18 and two sons, 16 and 14. Joe and his family reside in Middlebury. Joe was educated at Trinity College, Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics, with honors, 1989, and from New York University, School of Law, Juris Doctor, 1993. Admitted to practice in the States of Connecticut and New York, and the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Connecticut and Southern District of New York, and is a Member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Waterbury Bar Association, and the American Association. Attorney Yamin worked for Carter, Ledyard & Milburn from 1993-1995, and for Pepe & Hazard from 1995-2000. Joe now enjoys his diverse practice of Yamin & Grant LLC from 2001 to present which includes representation of business and individual clients with a particular emphasis on construction and commercial litigation. Often, he acts as general outside counsel to his business clients providing regular advice on legal issues tailored to his clients strategic plans. Joe represents contractors, business and real estate owners and developers in a variety of unique and complex transactions. He played a key role in advocating for legislation which was enacted to protect payments owed to sub-contractors on state construction projects. Attorney Yamin also serves as a Court appointed arbitrator in the Connecticut Superior Court. In addition to his legal practice, Attorney Yamin is an active member of the community, serving previously as the Chairman of the Waterbury Board of Finance and on the Board of Directors for the Waterbury Development Corporation. He has worked closely with the City’s various boards and municipal officials and is an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
